Are you ready for Eurocodes? CSC certainly is.

"Anyone who wishes to get the best out of the new Eurocode software should consider one of our training courses essential."

need guidance in using our software for Eurocode design. That's why we're running specific Eurocode training courses for users nationwide," says George.

"We have been serving the industry for over 30 years and have a wealth of knowledge related to Eurocodes." continues George. "Our training courses are hands-on and use real life examples. Not only will delegates leave CSC's training with a full understanding of the difference between British Standards and Eurocodes - and the fundamental difference in design approaches - but they will be able to provide comparative designs using British Standards and Eurocodes in order to assess the most efficient solution.

Anyone who wishes to get the best out of the new Eurocode software should consider one of our training courses essential," concludes George.

Leading software provider, CSC, is delighted to announce that all users with a current maintenance agreement will receive Eurocode versions of their software. Unlike some other software suppliers, this is provided free of charge as part of a users' maintenance agreement.

Thousands of TEDDS users have already been provided with Eurocode calculations to EC2 (concrete) and EC3 (steel), and calculations for EC5 (timber), EC6 (masonry), EC7 (geotechnical) will be delivered over the next few months as free downloads to supported users.

The first Eurocode version of their market-leading Fastrak Building Designer is expected to ship to all supported users before the end of 2009, and a Eurocode version of Orion is expected early in 2010.

It's fair to say CSC has been ahead of the game when it comes to research and development into Eurocode software. Draft Eurocode versions of TEDDS and Fastrak were available almost 10 years ago, and a

free version of TEDDS with Eurocode worked examples has been available for some time prior to the national annexes. In addition, CSC's Chief Engineer, Alan Rathbone, sits on a number of committees associated with the implementation of the Eurocodes.

Chris George, CSC's Business Development Director, comments "We have been developing our software for some years in anticipation of Eurocodes being implemented. Now that the Eurocodes and the relevant national annexes are complete it is clear that engineers will choose to adopt Eurocodes as soon as robust software solutions like TEDDS, Fastrak and Orion are available. There are many drivers for engineers wishing to use Eurocodes, but the potential for a more economic design of structures is clearly a key issue in the current climate."

The development costs associated with creating Eurocode versions of CSC's software has been substantial. With customer service at the forefront of CSC's mind, they believe the free Eurocode software upgrades are a good way to reward the many users who have supported them over the years.

"The change from British Standard codes to Eurocodes is complex and our users will
