Over 1000 engineers learn how simple the Direct Analysis Method really is

continues Newton. "An example of this is how we've automated the DAM within Fastrak for the stability design of buildings.

Through the research and development process and then supporting our customers with real projects, we often gain a unique insight into the practical application of the new design methods. These webinar events allow us to share our knowledge and experience with the wider industry. We like to focus on the application of the methods in a way which makes it simple to understand and practical to adopt."

The webinar was so well received that CSC is now running a follow up webinar 'How to implement the Direct Analysis Method' on 12th November 2009. From the comfort of their own offices, structural engineers will be taken step by step, by Jason and Matthew, through the 2005 AISC specification - with practical analysis and design examples.

On 23rd September, over 1000 engineers joined CSC's Jason Ericksen and Matthew Newton to find out how simple it is to learn the Direct Analysis Method. As an international provider of software to structural engineers, CSC gave engineers across America an insight into the stability provisions of the AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) 2005 Specification.

The 2005 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings brings significant changes to the way stability analysis and design must be carried out. For the first time, the Specification has something to say about

the analysis the engineers and their design software are performing.

"CSC aims to deliver educational topics of value and interest to the industry. It's clear that there was a lot of confusion surrounding the Direct Analysis Method (DAM) and we were delighted that we've been able to help so many engineers nationwide," said Matthew Newton, Director of CSC.

"We develop market leading software solutions for structural engineers. To maintain this position, we continually invest in research and development to implement the latest and greatest within our solutions,"
