Nick Cook, BREVe's inventor and author stated "It was time for BREVe to find a home with a professional software developer.
CSC fitted that bill and I am hopeful that they will take BREVe forward into the world."
Mark Roberts, CSC's CEO, commented "We are delighted to add the BREVe IPR to our advanced portfolio of building design software.
Now we own BREVe3, we have an opportunity to take this unique software technology and expand its geographical coverage into other parts of the world. These are exciting times."

CSC is delighted to announce that following successful negotiations with Nick Cook, the author of BREVe, they have purchased the copyright to the software.

The current version, BREVe3, automates the design wind speed and dynamic pressure clauses of BS6399-3 and EN1991-1-4 for any site on the UK National Grid.
|
Using a combination of wind speed maps, Ordnance Survey height data and the BRE's ground roughness data, BREVe3 determines the design wind speeds approaching any site from any direction on the UK mainland.
BREVe3 is embedded in CSC's Fastrak Building Designer allowing the software to automatically determine wind pressures acting on an entire building.
In addition to CSC's own software, a range of cold rolled manufacturers have also incorporated BREVe into their own software, including Ayrshire, Hi-Span, Kingspan, Metsec, and Structural Sections.
BREVe3 is also used by conservatory manufacturer Ultraframe and structural engineering software developers CADS and Masterseries.
